Bostwick a Huge Get for Gators

Florida got the best of both worlds today when they filled a huge need position with a big time player. Jaynard Bostwick (6-4, 275) announced his intentions to sign with the Gators on signing day. The 4-star Bostwick helps fill a huge need at defensive tackle where the Gators lost both starters and a third that played a lot.

Jaynard Bostwick is a perfect fit for a Will Muschamp defense that likes to combine a little bit of a 3-4 scheme with the set 4-3 personnel they call base. His quickness for his size sets him apart according to FOX Sports NEXT Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons.

"Bostwick is one of those defensive lineman that has the combination of size and skill set to play end in a 3-4 or tackle in a 4-3," Simmons wrote in Bostwick's profile. "He is a very strong lineman that really recognizes things quickly, locates the football, and makes a play. His hands are very active, he disengages well with offensive linemen, and he pursues the ball with quickness."

Bostwick was a highly sought after prospect from Port St. Lucie and was down to a final two of Miami and the Gators. Alabama among others pursued Bostwick down the stretch but the big time player decided to take his talents to Gainesville.

Bostwick marks the fourth defensive tackle prospect in the class joining 4-star Caleb Brantley of Crescent City, 4-star Darious Cummings of East Mississippi Community College, and 3-star athletic lineman Joey Ivie out of Largo.

Stay tuned as we have more on Bostwick as we continue to cover Signing Day 2013.
