"It was nice, I talked to the coaches, went to the basketball game, got a feel for how things were over there," he said.
"They were telling me that they have put guys in the NFL and how they're still building tradition, it's still early. I talked to the coaches and they said I could play either defensive end or linebacker, whichever I want it doesn't matter. They talked to me about staying home and how my parents could come up for every home game."
The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end also had good things to say about new USF Head Coach Willie Taggart.
"I think he's a great coach. I like him, he's a great guy. I talked to him for awhile and I like him," he said.
When it comes to staying close to home, Brown said it would be more of a bonus than a deciding factor in his college choice.
"I don't really care, it's a plus if I'm close home, but I'm not really going to base my decision off of if it's close to home or not," he said.
Brown's other recent offer is from Kentucky and he was happy to add an SEC program to his list.
"I talked to Coach (Chad) Scott. He's a great guy, I like talking to him. I'm just excited about the offer, it's my first SEC offer so that's exciting," he said.
"At one point in time I wanted to play in the SEC, but now I just want to see how it all plays out."
Next up, Brown plans to visit Florida State next weekend for junior day.
"(I want) just to see the new (defensive coordinator), I still haven't met him, to just see how things are and talk to the coaches," he said.
Brown is also getting a lot of interest from Rutgers and Tennessee and said either could offer quite soon. He doesn't plan to make a decision until after his senior season, but FOX Sports NEXT will have you covered for all of it.
