Pettway Opens Up His Recruiting

Prattville running back Kamryn Pettway has de-committed from Florida State according to his father Orlando Pettway.

Prattville, Ala.—One week ago Prattville running back Kamryn Pettway committed to Florida State following a visit to Tallahassee to check out the Seminoles. Following a trip to Auburn on Saturday for a Junior Day to check out Gus Malzahn's Tigers, Pettway's father Orlando says his earlier decision was a rushed one and now he's back on the market.

"Kamryn is going to open his recruiting back up," Orlando Pettway tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "He's kind of back open now. I'm sure he'll look at several different colleges now. He kind of just made a 16-year old decision."

One of the things that changed with Pettway in the last week was his feelings for Auburn and getting an offer from the Tigers. Already with a strong bond formed with Dameyune Craig, Pettway said following his visit on Saturday that getting a feel for the offense and Auburn running back coach Tim Horton has him very high on the Tigers at the moment.

"He seems like he's real nice and would really get the best out of me," Pettway said of Horton. "They just said they were going to be a running offense. That sounds real good to me."

As a junior the 6-0, 224 Pettway ran for 1,126 yards and 12 touchdowns on just 115 carries for the Lions. He also added a pair of touchdown receptions and has great hands for a big back.
