"I am down to Alabama and Florida State," Kain Daub told Scout Saturday. "I will visit Alabama April 21, then I will make my decision this spring. It will be Alabama or Florida State." Daub made it clear to Scout that this would be a final decision. He committed to LSU in the summer of 2012 before backing off his decision months later.
2016 wide receiver Keith Gavin has an offer from Clemson. The 6-foot-3, 210 pound freshman out of Wakulla, Fla. told Scout that his "dream" school is Florida State.
Scout 300 safety Trey Marshall out of Lake City (Fla.) Columbia now sits at 13 offers. He picked up an offer from West Virginia recently and when asked about favorites, he said, "Florida State and Georgia are my top two."
2016 linebacker Shaquille Quarterman out of Oakleaf (Fla.) is young, but he is one to keep an eye on. This 6-foot, 244 pound true inside backer likes Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Miami early on.
Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson 2014 linebacker Juwuan Brown added an offer from Louisville recently and Kentucky, Louisville, South Florida, Toledo, and others have offered as well. Brown said, "I really want to stay in state. I like Florida, UCF, and South Florida a lot right now."
Kendall Sawyer is a four-star cornerback on Scout, but he spent some time on offense Saturday. He worked at both corner and receiver. Sawyer said, "South Florida, UCF, North Carolina, Louisville, and some others have offered. I really want to get an offer from LSU and Georgia. I do not have any favorites."
State champion Zack Darlington has a nice offer list. The quarterback out of Apopka, Fla. says Ohio State is close to offering and that Ole Miss, Nebraska, Minnesota, West Virginia, and others have offered him a scholarship. When Scout asked him about early favorites, he said, "I don't really have any right now."
Sharieef Rhaheed is a 6-foot-3, 207 pound rush end/outside linebacker out of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and he has offers from Memphis, North Carolina State, LSU, Penn State, and others at this time. It was a quick answer when asked who led, "All the SEC schools," he said laughing. "The SEC is the best conference and I would love to play there."
Michigan picked up a commitment from East Lake (Fla.) four-star offensive tackle Mason Cole recently and his teammate George Campbell was sporting Michigan gloves today. The 2015 wide receiver has an offer from the Wolverines and they are one of the schools he is currently considering.
Scout 300 defensive tackle Poona Ford made the trip down from Hilton Head, S.C. and he showed why 19 schools have offered him. Ford said, "My last offer came from Tennessee and I think I will get some more soon. A few schools just want to see me in person. I am going to hit the road this summer and visit Ohio State, Louisville, and some others. I like South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Missouri the most right now."
