Sunday's game marks the second time the Gators and Gophers have met and the first time the team's have played each other since 1993 in the NIT. The series is now tied 1-1. It was the first meeting in an NCAA Championship game.
The Gators will face Florida Gulf Coast University in the South Regional Semifinals on Friday, March 29 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This will be their ninth Sweet Sixteen appearance (currently playing in 16th NCAA Championship). They have a 34-13 record in tournament games.

Sharp shooting: Florida shot 56.8 percent from the floor (21-37 FG). It is the best shooting effort from the Gators in an NCAA Championship game since shooting 58.9 percent (43-73 FG) against Jackson State in March 2007.

Go ahead lead: After the fourth tie of the game at 10-10, Florida went on a 27-5 run to increase its lead to 37-15 with just over five minutes remaining in first half.
Beyond the arc: Florida made over ten three-point field goals for the thirteenth time this season. Five of its ten three-pointers were made before the eight minute mark in the first half.
In the last five games, UF is averaging 8.4 three-pointers made per game.
Points in a half: UF set a season high for points in a half (48) in the first half of Sunday's game. It is the most for Gators in a half since scoring 53 points in the first half at Arkansas in February 2012.
Bench scoring: Florida outscored Minnesota's bench 14-4.
Mike Rosario sets career highs: [as a Florida Gator] in points (25) and 3-pointers made (six). Rosario led the Gators in scoring for the fifteen time this season with 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor in 34 minutes.
