Miami Killian sophomore Jaquan Johnson recently caught up with CUTigers to talk about Clemson and where things stand with his recruitment.

"I haven't really heard much about [Clemson]. The coach that I talk to told me they play fast and they wanted me to come out and visit them," Johnson said.

Clemson offered Johnson as a safety, so has everyone else.

Miami, Florida State, Florida, Ole Miss and South Carolina are the other schools with early offers out to the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect.

Miami is the only school that he's visited, so far.

"I want to get up to Clemson. And I wanted to get up to South Carolina and Florida this year," Johnson said.

He's would like to see what things are like in the Palmetto State.

"I just sort of what to see how different is, how the campuses look and the people, how the people act," he said.

It's too early for Johnson to say who leads.

"I'm not really looking at any school harder than the others," he said.

A couple of factors will be considered as he moves through the recruiting process.

"I'll be looking at the defensive scheme, see how I fit into it. I just want to be able to play in it. I just want a good opportunity," Johnson said.

As a sophomore, Johnson scored 16 total touchdowns and had 74 tackles with seven interceptions.
