Allen takes in Florida camp

They say speed kills and if so, then class of 2015 running back James Allen of Citra North Marion is deadly. The shifty athlete that lines up mostly at running back can disappear on you if you blink. Allen spent his day Saturday at Florida's camp and came away impressed as were the Gator coaches with him.

"I felt like I did okay, I could have done better," The modest James Allen said after the long day of work. "This was my first Florida camp so I had to get the feel for camp. I had to get into it and see how it went."

Allen said he really took to the Florida coaching and liked that running back Coach Brian White was so intent on helping him with a few things.

"It was great," he said of the coaching. "I really liked the coaching staff and the drills they teach you, it was great. I learned how my pocket should be. I shouldn't switch the ball so much. "

White will keep tabs on Allen who possesses the type of speed and athleticism the staff really wants at their skill positions.

"He told me that he will see me in the near future and that I can play for the University of Florida and that I am a good athlete," Allen said of the Gators running back coach. "They haven't offered but they are really interested. Coach Muschamp told me to keep my head on straight, stay focused ,and get my grind and I could play for the University of Florida."
