Lee trims list to nine, sets summer plans

Linebacker Brandon Lee of Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central talks about which schools made his cut of nine, where he'll visit this summer, and what's next in terms of recruitment.

Linebacker Brandon Lee of Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central has trimmed his list to nine. Alphabetically, he's considering California, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, Northwestern, Oregon and Virginia Tech.

"Those nine are the schools that I get the best vibes from, academically and on the field," Lee said. "This has been a roller coaster spring and I didn't expect to gain these many offers. It's been a little overwhelming, but I've enjoyed it and I just thank God."

Lee has two visits set for the summer, and he's still contemplating setting dates for a few others.

"I am visiting Indiana tomorrow and Virginia Tech on July 13," Lee said. "Those are the two I have set. I will probably visit Northwestern and Kentucky this summer as well. I'm not sure about Iowa and Missouri, but I know my mom wants to see those two schools. I have seen Louisville three or four times, so I probably won't get back down there this summer."

"I want to see Oregon and California," Lee added. "I don't want to take them off my list until I have a chance to visit them in the fall."

Lee plans to cut his list to around five in late July or early August and take official visits. He will decide sometime in the fall and enroll early in January.

"I will know sometime this fall," Lee said. "I'm not sure I'm taking all of my officials, it just depends. Academics and campus atmosphere will play big factors in my decision."

Lee is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 25 outside linebacker in the 2014 class by Scout.com.
