Murphy finished his Florida career with 1,052 career points, leading the Gators with a .453 three-point field goal percentage during his senior year. He is the third Florida player drafted by the Bulls, joining Joakim Noah (2007) and Matt Bonner (2003).
Murphy was the latest selection in a recent trend. Since 2003, Murphy is the 11th Florida player standing 6-foot-9 or taller to be drafted. Those 11 players -- along with the undrafted Udonis Haslem -- have combined to earn five NBA All-Star appearances, two All-NBA teams, three NBA All-Rookie Teams, two NBA All-Defensive teams and five NBA Championships.
The 11 players that were 6-foot-9 or taller drafted since 2003 are Matt Bonner, Christian Drejer, David Lee, Al Horford, Corey Brewer, Noah, Chris Richard, Marreese Speights, Chandler Parsons, Vernon Macklin and Murphy.
