The Florida Gators football program is trying to dip hard in to south Florida and Miami for the bevy of talent that the area possesses. That helps make guys like running back / safety Tim Irvin of Miami Westmintser Christian a priority in the recruiting process. The talented athlete certainly fits the bill in regards to the talent rich south Florida area.
The Gators offered Tim Irvin
a while ago and he showed up Friday and gave them another reason to stay on him. In turn, Irvin liked what he saw and participated in while on campus.
"It was a great experience," Irvin said shortly after the event. "There was a lot of good talent out here. Everyone competed and it was a very good workout for everyone out here."
Florida defensive back coach Travaris Robinson is drawing rave reviews regionally and nationally as one of the best assistants at his position and Irvin appreciated what Robinson showed on Friday.
"I learned a lot of things," Irvin said of his coach for the evening. "Coach Travaris Robinson taught me some things about backpedaling and he is a great defensive back coach."
Florida will stay on Irvin in the recruiting process and as 2015 prospect, they want to make sure his priorities are straight.
"They told me to stay focused in school and that they would love for me to come and play as a freshman and other things like that."
He has over 20 offers right now, but Irvin left Gainesville wide open to the recruiting process.
"I am open to a lot of schools but the top schools recruiting me are Alabama, Miami, Florida State, USC, Vanderbilt and more," he said.
