Gators in the NFL: Week Seven

There were 21 former Florida players active this weekend and 11 of them started for their NFL team. Jordan Reed was the highlight, scoring his first career touchdown.

Jordan Reed had his breakout performance at tight end for the Washington Redskins with nine catches for 134 yards and one touchdown. It was the second career touchdown for Reed.

Jon Bostic made his first pro start for the Chicago Bears at middle linebacker and tied for the team lead with eight tackles. Major Wright started at strong safety and also had eight tackles.

Carlos Dunlap started at defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals, recording five tackles, two quarterback hits and a blocked field goal that Reggie Nelson recovered. Nelson started at free safety and had four tackles, one quarterback hit and one pass breakup.

Josh Evans made his fourth-straight start at free safety for the Jacksonville Jaguars and made nine tackles.

Brandon Spikes started at linebacker for the New England Patriots and led the team with 11 tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

Mike Pouncey started at center for the Miami Dolphins. Jelani Jenkins saw time at linebacker and made three tackles. Kicker Caleb Sturgis went 0-for-1, missing a 51-yard field goal.

David Nelson started at wide receiver for the New York Jets and had four catches for 80 yards.

Riley Cooper started at wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles and made six catches for 88 yards.

Matt Elam started at free safety for the Baltimore Ravens and had three tackles, one tackles for a loss and recovered one fumble.

Will Hill saw time at safety for the New York Giants and made four tackles with one quarterback hit.

Joe Haden started at cornerback for the Cleveland Browns and made three tackles.

Sharrif Floyd saw time at defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings and returned one kick for nine yards before fumbling it.

Ray McDonald started at defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers and made one tackle with one quarterback hit.

Janoris Jenkins started at cornerback for the St. Louis Rams and recorded two tackles.

Marcus Gilbert started at right tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Saw time but didn't record a stat: Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Deonte Thompson, Denver Broncos wide receiver Andre Caldwell, New York Giants receiver.
