On the same day he was honored as an Under Armour All-American along with Auburn commitment and Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's teammate Tre Williams, Joshua Casher made the day even more memorable by committing to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Tuesday night.
The news was confirmed by St. Paul's coach Steve Mask.
Casher, who plays left tackle in high school, has maintained that he grew up an Alabama fan even before he committed to Auburn this spring.
"My family loves Alabama, and I feel real good about that offer," he said over the summer. "It's a great school."
Casher is the fifth in-state commitment for Nick Saban's 2014 class and seventh offensive line prospect to give his verbal pledge to the No. 1 program in this cycle.
Scout.com currently pegs Casher ad the No. 4 center prospect in the country for the class of 2014. At Alabama, he is likely to play center or guard. The Crimson Tide also has a center prospect on the commitment list in four-star J.C. Hassenauer, the top high school senior at the position.
