Philosophy change on offense?

With the Gator offense stymied and ranked in the 100's nationally for the last three years, Florida head coach Will Muschamp has been hinting for the last few weeks that he understands that the offense has to change and with that a possible change in overall philosophy.

The Gators have had an abysmal season and most of the issues have come on the offensive side of the ball. In a state loaded with skill talent, Florida has been unable to utilize that talent and hence a change might be the best thing.

With the reported changes at hand that started with the release of offensive coordinator Brent Pease and offensive line coach Tim Davis, Will Muschamp has been talking lately about a possible philosophy change in offense. That appears to be what is happening as he is looking to sign new coaches to fill the vacated spots.

"We need to take a look at ourselves schematically with what we're doing," Muschamp said after the 37-7 loss to Florida State on Saturday. "There have been some things that have happened that are very difficult to overcome, but schematically, there's no question we need to take a look at ourselves."

That first internal look came with the departures above, we are hearing a more open offense, possibly spread oriented is in the works. Things seem to be moving fast on a possible hire.
