Florida senior Casey Prather is experiencing a breakout season and was recognized for his play by the Southeastern Conference on Monday. The league named Prather co-SEC player of the week along with Mississippi State's Craig Sword.
averaged 23 points and 4.5 rebounds while Florida
secured wins over Jacksonville and Florida State
. He made 73.9 percent of his field goals and helped the Gators win a close game at home on Friday despite battling foul trouble throughout the night.
Florida head coach Billy Donovan has credited Prather's emergence to being comfortable. He understands his strengths and weaknesses now. Prather isn't a strong perimeter shooter, but he can get to the rim and score.
"He's playing to his strengths," Donovan said. "He's not trying to force shots. He's not trying to make plays that aren't there. He's being a lot more productive and selective."
