2015: Quick look at Jalean Perkins

Jalean Perkins is certainly a prospect to watch in 2015. The 6-foot-1, 170 pound cornerback from Olympia HS in Orlando (Fla.) has the height, quickness, and physicality in his game to play big time football at the next level. A few schools seem on the verge of making that a reality. We watched Perkins Sunday and talked to him briefly.

The ‘Rat Pack' is an Orlando based 70n7 venture coached by Florida Gator Great Keiwan Ratliff. A group of super talented skill guys from the Orlando area, the Rat Pack will be competing regionally and nationally this spring and summer against all-star teams from all over the country.

One of the better players at cornerback is Jalean Perkins who the guys call ‘Sunshine'. He's tall and rangy and though he can use some muscle, he plays the game aggressive and in your face.

Perkins is currently getting looks from Miami, Bethune-Cookman College, and North Carolina State.

"NC State came to the school and talked to me," Perkins said Sunday during after the Rat Pack practice session. "Miami, Bethune Cookman have also been by.They like my speed, coverage, and my man-to-man skills.'

"I am interested in N.C. State, Miami and any school that has interest in me and wants me," he said. "I like Florida too."

Perkins has a few goals for the his senior year.

"I want to get good grades, work hard, and hopefully bring my team to a championship," he said.
