Howard is a two-way standout

Sometimes there are those football prospects that are just hard to place at a position, because they are good at more than one. One prospect that fits this bill and will be turning heads into his senior season is Naquan Howard of Gainesville (Fla.) Buccholz HS. Howard travels to Orlando every week to practice with the Rat Pack 7on7 squad and he is showing up well.

Naquan Howard plays both ways for Buccholz and at 6-foot and 175 pounds he has good size to make a difference both at receiver and cornerback for the Bobcats.

Having played football since the sixth grade, college coaches are now taking notice and some scholarship offers seem to be close at hand for the versatile play maker.

"They like my size, speed, and ability to make plays with the ball," Howard said of college coaches talking about his game. "I grew up always being competitive and having heart and passion for the game." A pretty good student, Howard says he believes that first offer is coming very soon. Some big time programs are talking a lot to him.

"Wisconsin, Kentucky, Missouri, and Akron are some that are talking a lot to me," he said. "I think Wisconsin could be first offer. They want me to unofficial visit. They send me a lot of letters and have been real active in the recruiting process."

He plans on getting his name out there and showing his stuff on the camp circuit this year. Of course the home town Gators will be visited.

"I plan on going to the Sparq camp, to the Miami camp, and the Florida camp," he said. I look forward to visiting FIU , I have visited them since the 9th grade. I look forward to Miami as well. I will be going to see Wisconsin as well.

"I am also interested in USF and UCF, they are close to home." Howard believes he knows what he is looking for in picking a program. "The city around the school… things you can do in the city," he said. "I also want to major in architecture, so that is big."
