Florida center fielder Harrison Bader has been suspended from the baseball team after a scooter accident that occurred early Sunday morning.
Gainesville Police Department spokesman Ben Tobias said that Harrison Bader
was taken to Shands after police found him. Tobias said there was a "strong odor of alcohol" coming from the sophomore outfielder. Blood work was sent away to determine what Bader's blood alcohol level was at the time of the accident.
Bader led the Gators in batting average (.312) and stolen bases (15) last year as a freshman. He was projected to play center field and hit in the middle of the Florida batting order. Instead, he'll serve an indefinite suspension to start the season.
"Harrison Bader has been suspended from all teams activities indefinitely," Florida coach Kevin O'Sullivan said.
