"I went up Monday and just felt like I fit in," Jordan said of his visit to Gainesville earlier in the week. "When I went back today I had the same feeling. So, I went up to Coach Muschamp's office and told him I wanted to be a Gator. They were all really excited."
At 6-foot-4.5 and 270 pounds, Jordan expects to grow into a 300 pounder as he approaches his arrival to college. The staff is high on Jordan's football IQ in which offensive line coach Mike Summers tested earlier in the week. They like him a lot at the center position.
"They said they like my athleticism, my knee bends, and my nastiness on the field," he said. " They see me as a center. It's because of my intelligence, and my size, they feel I fit best there."
Jordan also liked other parts of the program and the school, but it seems the people really won him over.
"I like the campus, the academic support, the coaches and I really liked all the players that I met," he said. "I talked to a few of the offensive linemen. One of them was Trip Thurman. He was telling me how he really likes it and what kind of a team they are."
Jordan grew up a Gator fan and he is all familiar with the current state of affairs in Gainesville. There is no worry in his mind about what is going on.
"Every coach could be on the hot seat," he said regarding the 4-8 record in 2013. "I like Coach Muschamp and Coach Roper coming over as well. It should be a great offense for this program."
We will continue to follow Tyler Jordan closely as a Florida Gator commitment, so stay tuned to Scout.com.
