The 40-yard dash was run indoors at Florida's O'Connell Center. The indoor track was a new kind of surface for some and they had to figure things out. Jacobs was one of a few that decided to run bare foot at least once. He said he got a good result out of that second run.
"My last 40 was good," he said of the one he ran with no shoes. "I have some feet like no other. I just took them off. I asked Marcus Roberson about it and he said it was pretty tight, so I did it too."
Jacobs says that he is hearing he could go in the latter parts of the upcoming NFL draft.
"All I have heard is late to mid-round pick," he said. "This thing was big for me because a lot of teams wanted to see me move around. They like my hands and feet and my quickness. They think I have a good motor and that I play physical on the field. "
Only at Florida for two years, Jacobs made a ton of friends that he will remember forever.
"I will miss a lot," he said of his Florida career being done. "Just coming out here today it was just a good feeling to be back on these fields. This is a special place and so there will be so much missed about it.
It is the first time I have seen these boys in a while. It was real good to see them and we were real excited to see each other."
Jacobs said he will be back in Gainesville next month when scouts come to see Dominique Easley work out. Easley is still recovering from an ACL injury and didn't feel right working out on it just yet.
