After dropping midweek games against Florida A&M and Jacksonville, the Florida baseball team bounced back by sweeping Missouri over the weekend to take a two-game lead in the Southeastern Conference standings.
The three-game sweep over Missouri
was enough to push Florida
up in every poll. The Gators jumped to No. 4 in the Perfect Game Poll and No. 5 in the Baseball America Poll. The Collegiate Baseball Poll pushed Florida to No. 8 while the USA Today Coaches' Poll moved the Gators to No. 12.
Florida won its Saturday game behind a one-hit shutout from Aaron Rhodes. The right-hander was named one of Louisville Slugger's National Players of the Week. He's the first Florida pitcher to earn the recognition since Brian Johnson at the beginning of the 2011 season.
The Gators have the week off from games for exams before traveling to face Alabama this weekend.
