Boykin looking forward to Florida trip

Four-star receiver Miles Boykin of New Lenox (Ill.) Providence Catholic was paid a visit by Florida assistant Brian White on Thursday. The 6-oot-4, 215 pound play maker received an offer from the gators a few weeks ago and is encouraged about what he is hearing about the program in Gainesville. Boykin says he will be by to check out the University of Florida campus in June.

Miles Boykin was looking forward to news from the Florida Gators last month when he received the offer.

"It was awesome," Boykin said. "I was really excited. I was waiting on it and was happy for the opportunity."

Thursday, Florida assistant coach Brian White visited Providence Catholic and after eyeballing the receiver he was able to let Boykin know that the new offense at Florida and the slot ‘B' position which is a hybrid receiver / tight end spot perfect for his large size.

"Coach White came by (last week) and he told me I was perfect for their offense and he can't wait for me to visit," Boykin said. "They want me at the ‘B' position and I plan on visiting in June. They like my speed and my height."

As much as he was waiting on the Florida offer, he still has a lot to learn about the Gators.

"I don't know much," he said. "I hope to learn more when I visit."

He gave a few important factors that will help him make a decision about where he will eventually sign.

"It is going to be about the coaching staff, academics, and what the best situation is for me," he said.
