Two More for McCollum

6-foot-4, 275 pound junior Sam McCollum has added two more offers to his list. The offensive tackle talks about Dartmouth and Kent State.

The recruitment of Dublin (Ohio) Coffman junior Sam McCollum is beginning to heat up. The offensive tackle has added two new schools to his list.

"I got two more offers from Dartmouth and Kent State," said McCollum. "I talked with coach (Buddy) Teevens from Dartmouth. He said that they were, ‘tremendously impressed with my academic, athletic and personal background.' I also talked with coach (Ben) Needham from Kent State. He said that they loved my film and watched it several times."

The junior says that he's been talking to both schools, but still not expecting the offers quite yet.

"Both of the offers were a little bit of a surprise. I had contact with both the teams, but not much," he said.

McCollum says that there are things about both schools that he likes.

"Dartmouth is more rural than most Ivy League schools. For Kent State, one of my teammates, Jackson Hayes, is walking on there next year," said McCollum.

McCollum also holds offers from Fordham, James Madison, Toledo and Yale. He says however, that he doesn't have a favorite yet.

"My interest in all schools right now are equal. One hasn't separated from the pack yet," he said.

The offensive tackle says he's truly enjoying the recruiting process.

"It's nice to have so many coaches and programs showing this much confidence in me so early," said McCollum.
