Davante Davis has picked up offers from a long list of schools including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, and South Carolina. While he doesn't like to talk much recruiting, he admits that deep down, he is happy to have some great options.
"It's very exciting. It all happened really fast, it was unexpected," he said.
Davis committed to Syracuse a few weeks ago but decided that decision was premature. He still plans to visit ‘Cuse in the future, but he doesn't want to talk any more about that whole situation. Davis did visit Florida Friday with his Booker T. teammates for the UF 7on7.
"Florida, it was really nice. They showed a lot of love," he said.
Miami is another school that has offered Davis recently.
"Miami, it's the home team," he said.
The National Champion Seminoles also extended an offer to Davis in the past couple weeks.
"I have the same interest (in them) as (in) everybody else," he said.
Don't forget that Alabama offer.
"It was big. Any time you get offered by Alabama, it's big. Major," Davis said.
In case you haven't noticed, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound corner doesn't like to talk too much about his recruitment. He's worried about other things.
"I'm not a talkative person," he said.
"I'm not trying to focus on (recruiting) right now. I'm just trying to focus on football and helping my team be a better team."
It'll likely be awhile before Davis makes a final decision. More than anything, he wants to feel comfortable at his future school.
"I want a good relationship with the coaches, academics, and somewhere I can play," he said.
