2016 receiver shows well at Gators' camp

The list of prospects over the last week and a half at the Will Muschamp Football Camps has been impressive. One particular receiver showed off his speed and skills last week and will be a prospect that we will have to keep tabs on. Calvin Jackson of Coral Springs Charter already holds two division one offers and more are on the way.

With time to put on some size, Calvin Jackson (5-foot-9, 160 pounds), already has the speed and quicks to be a devastatingly good football player in high school. Jackson showed up at Florida's camp last week and was impressive in The Swamp as both a receiver and defensive back. He enjoyed his time against some quality competition and with the Florida staff's eyes on him.

"It was good to come out here," Jackson said shortly after his camp session was done. "There was a lot of competition which is what I needed. I came out here and put it out there. Hopefully I got noticed a little bit."

Relatively unknown, someone has been doing their homework and Akron and LSU have already offered the speedy athlete. He did talk to Florida head coach Will Muschamp and some offensive coaches, but Florida wants to see more. He says he will take away from the camp, "Just competing, that's it".

Still two years away from showing up on a college campus, Jackson already has two offers including a huge SEC offer in the fold. His father of the same name played for Auburn and the Miami Dolphins and the younger Calvin Jackson wants to follow in the footsteps.

"It was very exciting to get that first offer from Akron," Jackson said. "I just wanted to play big time football like my dad. LSU saw a couple of films and talked to my dad and got me after the Sparq combine."

Florida International and Appalachian State are also showing a lot of interest and Jackson will be camping at NC State on Monday.

We will keep in touch with Calvin Jackson throughout his recruitment here at Scout.com.
