"It was great, a good experience," Jaylon Hamer said following his camp session. "I love the Swamp. It's been a dream to play on this field and I love it."
Hamer is a solidly built back with some power and speed. Running back coach Brian White is quite familiar with him and likes what he sees in the young man.
"Coach White says I am a great player and explosive," Hamer said. "He likes my work ethic and he would like to see me out here."
As far as his future in college football, there are no offers yet, but a few schools are really starting to press Hamer and show him a lot of attention.
"I am not on the map as a D-1 player, but I will be soon," he said with confidence. "Michigan State, Iowa State and Cincinnati are probably the closest right now (to offering). Florida Tech has a lot of interest and Florida International."
In the end, getting that college degree is very important to him and his family. He knows the things that will drive him to the final school he chooses.
"The education is important," he said. "I want the best. I want a hard working team, a family and a great place to train and get better."
