Shore named First-Team Freshman All-American

Baseball America released its annual Freshman All-American Team on Monday afternoon, and to no surprise, Florida right-hander Logan Shore made the first team after a strong spring.

Logan Shore was also named the SEC Freshman of the Year recently. He ended the season with a 7-4 record with a team-best 2.16 ERA in 95.2 innings. His best numbers came against SEC competition, going 7-1 with a 2.08 ERA. He tied for the SEC lead with seven conference wins and went at least five innings in every start he made this year.

Shore didn't pitch in the season-opening series against Maryland. Kevin O'Sullivan said after the third game that he should've found a place for Shore to start that weekend, but it allowed the right-hander to start the first midweek game of the year against UCF. The freshman dominated, allowing just three hits and one unearned run in 5.1 innings.

It proved he was ready for a bigger role. After throwing out of the bullpen during the following weekend series against Miami, Shore got the start to begin the next weekend series and had another strong outing. He stayed as Florida's ace for the rest of the year.
