FNL makes impact on Prince

We have gone over it 100 times, but the need for offensive linemen at Florida is a huge one. Landing quality and quantity in the offensive trenches in the 2015 class is a top priority and getting these big prospects on campus is a big start to making that happen. Four-star offensive tackle Isaiah Prince made the trip from Greenbelt, Maryland to Friday Night Lights and liked it.

Isaiah Prince got as much of the red carpet treatment as is allowed on an unofficial visit when he came to Florida on Friday. After the trip was almost over, Prince was ready to say it was very worthwhile.

“It was a really great trip we got to spend some time with the coaches, got to see the campus, the players are really cool,” Prince said on the outside of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium following the Friday Night Lights camp. “We got some great work in and see how it is. I can’t imagine what it will be like on game day.”

There were several reasons that led Prince to visit Florida and camp to show what he could do.

“The tradition… there have been some great players that have come through here (Florida),” he said. “I know there are some great coaches. It would e playing in the SEC. It is a great school and a great campus. I want to study Sports Management. Everything is close on campus. Everything is right by the stadium.”

Florida has a new offensive line coach and the current players and the prospects that he has coached up at camp have raved about Summers. Add Prince to the list.

“I think he is a really good coach,” Prince said about Summers. “I like the fact he doesn’t yell and scream. If you make a mistake he pulls you to the side and coaches you up. Most coaches just pull you out or yell at you. He actually takes the time to correct your mistakes.”

Florida is one of a quartet of schools that are at the top for Prince.

“Right now, the schools that stick out to me are Maryland, Alabama, Florida, and Ohio State,” he said. “I will probably get more in the mix as I take more visits.”

He does know a few official visits he will line up as well.

“I have to be here for a game,” he said about The Swamp. “I will also get back to Bama and Ohio State.”

Prince plans on making a decision after his senior year of football. He says there are a few things he is looking for when making that final choice.

“Building a great relationship with the coaches and the people that care about me other than the football part of it,” he said. “I want to be a good education and the players (are important).”
