Richardson ready to cut list after FNL

Big athletic tight ends are becoming harder and harder to find among college prospects and that is what makes Tavin Richardson such a big target for the Florida gators and the oyther programs that are pursuing him. The Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes athlete participated in Friday Night Lights and talked to Scout afterwards about cutting his list down very soon.

Tavin Richardson came to Friday Night Lights at Florida with an open mind and ready to compete. That is exactly what he did on the grass and under the lights of ben Hill Griffin Stadium. And he liked wht all transpired. “It went very good,” Richardson said shortly after the event. “(Tight end) Coach Lewis said I have great footwork for the position. He said I have great hands and that I have the whole package for the position.”
Lewis keyed in on Richardson and let him know that he will be a big target moving forward. “He says I am a big time player for the offense and the program,” Richardson said of Lewis. “They are pushing me hard. It’s a great school and my first time visiting. I had a great time and the competition was great.” He likes his chances of getting on the field early as well. “They have two seniors and so I have a chance to come in and play early at the hybrid tight end spot,” Richardson said of the Gators. The schools really coming hard after Richardson right now are Florida UCF, Kentucky, Louisville, and Virginia Tech. He says he expects to make a top five list in the next week. He also knows what he wants to look for in a program. “Playing time is important,” Richardson said. “I want to play early. I want a team with tradition, a great program, and a great academic school.”
