A month after performing well at Florida’s June football camp, Javarius Davis returned to Florida Field to watch as others competed on the field. It was a pretty uneventful time for him, but that would change on Saturday.
“Coach Muschamp, I talked to him (Saturday) and he told me they loved me and they told me they could use me on special teams and offense, and then he offered,” Davis said. “It was very exciting.”
Davis is a dynamic play maker for Ed White and a guy that specializes on special teams as well.“They (the Gator staff) like that I have quick hands and am versatile,” he said. “I make plays and they need play makers. I also have the breakaway speed.”
Davis remains true to his commitment to the Tarheels and talked about why.
“It is everything,” he said about what he likes. “My relationship with the players and coaching staff and I like the education.”
He plans on staying true to his commitment, but admittedly isn’t totally sure about what the future holds.
“I am still solid to North Carolina, but who knows what can happen?” he said. “I am just going to let God lead me the way.”
What would it take for Florida to make a better move?
“I just need to build my relationship with the coaches and see how I grow in talking with them,” he said. It also matters what my mother thinks of Florida.”
As far as Fall visits, he knows of two right now.
“I will try and be at the first (Florida) home game,” he said. “I am taking an official in October to North Carolina.”
