Davis Excited By Florida Offer

Jacksonville (Fla.) Ed White High School class of 2015 cornerback/athlete Javarius Davis was offered by Florida after a strong performance at the Gator's Friday Night Lights camp last week. The 5-foot-10 and 175-pound rising senior committed to North Carolina last month.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Ed White High School running back/cornerback Javarius Davis has been committed to North Carolina for a little more than a month. Last week the 5-foot-10 and 175-pound speedster received an offer from the University of Florida after participating in the Gator’S Friday Night Lights camp.

Davis says he remains committed to the Tar Heels at this time but did admit that the Florida offer does give him something to think about. Davis learned of his offer after calling Florida head football coach Will Muschamp following the camp.

”I was very excited because that was a big offer. Coach Muschamp is building and up-and-coming program. It is just down the street from my hometown so it’s pretty big,” Davis said.

Florida has offered Davis as a slot receiver/kick returner. He is committed to North Carolina as a cornerback. Davis says he didn’t see the Florida offer coming.

”I really didn’t know they were going to offer me until Coach Muschamp wrote me on Twitter and told me to call him. He told me they needed a playmaker like me. That was big,” Davis said.

When asked if he had a preference as to whether he played offense or defense in college, Davis was both cryptic and diplomatic with his answer.

”I like both, I just like to play ball,” said Davis.

Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA and Wisconsin are just a few of the programs that have also offered Davis since his junior season ended.
