The Florida Gators continue to bring in big time prospects to visit even in the midst of a hard fall camp. This weekend was no exception as several big time prospects came in. One of those was offensive lineman and Virginia commitment Grant Polk of Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte. The 6-foot-6, 280 pound Polk liked what he saw in Gainesville.
“It went well,” Polk said of the trip down this weekend. “I got the full tour and to see everything, It was good. I saw practice and it was really high intensity. They were really getting after it.”
The Gators are in need of several linemen in the 2015 class and Polk is one they will continue to keep tabs on during his senior season.
“They were telling me they were going to keep in touch,” he said. “They said there could be an offer in the future, but not at this time.”
With the season pretty much upon is and practices starting on the high school and collegiate level, there is little time for trips like he made and Polk doesn’t see any other trips on his schedule right now until he takes an official one to see the school he is committed to.
“I am not sure yet,” he said of any trips in the near future. “Really the only visit I have set up is my official to Virginia.”
Polk added the reason he chose the Cavaliers for his program of the future.
“It is a great school, great tradition,” he said. “It is an awesome conference, the ACC. I think I fit in very well there, they have awesome coaches and a great group of guys.
“The campus is just beautiful. It was kind of breathtaking how old it was and how beautiful it was. The facilities are very nice.”
With the 2014 season here, Scout will certainly keep watch over Grant Polk and see where things progress in his senior season.
