Florida was one of three schools to have multiple defensive players on the first team.
Dante Fowler made the watch list for the Bednarik Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy in the offseason. He was an All-SEC second team selection last year, totaling 10.5 tackles for a loss, fifth most of any returning SEC player.
Vernon Hargreaves III was placed on five postseason award watch lists, notably the Walter Camp Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. He had three interceptions in the first four games last season and tied the Florida freshman record with 11 pass breakups.
Florida right tackle Chaz Green was named to the second team offense, while left tackle D.J. Humphries and running back Matt Jones were both placed on the third team. After Fowler and Hargreaves, linebacker Antonio Morrison was the only other defensive player to be honored, as the coaches voted him onto the third team. Returner Andre Debose as a third team selection as a return specialist.
Green missed the entire 2013 season with a shoulder injury. Humphries started only six games last year before a knee injury forced him to miss the second half of the year. Jones also returns from a season-ending injury to rejoin the Florida backfield.
Morrison was second on the team in tackles last year with 56 total tackles despite missing four games. Debose has four kickoff returns for a touchdown, the most in school history.
