Wells loved The Swamp atmosphere

Rick Wells spent most of Saturday in Gainesville and said he had a great time as the Gators took on LSU.

Jacksonville Raines super athlete Rick Wells has been on the Florida campus quite a few times since the summer and he paid another visit Saturday afternoon and into the late night as the Gators gave up a close loss to LSU on a field goal with just seconds remaining on the clock.

The Swamp was electric Saturday and most of the prospects we have talked to liked what they saw and heard. Wells came away hyped about the surroundings during the game.

“It was good, I loved the atmosphere,” Wells said. “It is definitely a place I would like to play.”

Wells is being recruited to Florida as a receiver and is a guy that can do a lot of things with the ball in his hands. He watched the offense intently and believes they do need some help at certain places on the field. From watching he said he learned a few things.

“You have to play every play, no plays off,” he said. As a receiver, you have to get open to help your quarterback out.”

Wells is a speedster and an athlete that also plays some quarterback for the Raines Vikings. He’s a guy with the ability to turn nothing into something on the football field. He knows where he would be if he signed with the Gators.

“I would line up as a Z-receiver, one to stretch the field,” he said. “I would be a short and deep ball threat.”

He’s been to a few places so far this year and will visit more. The trip to The Swamp was a good one for him.

“I will visit Cincinnati next,” he said. “Florida has been my favorite so far.”
