More stars visiting Gators for Missouri game

Another night game should mean another great atmosphere for prospects like Adonis Thomas, as they watch.

One constant since February with this Florida football program has been the parade of stars that have visited campus. That continues Saturday night as Florida is expected to host at least a dozen big name recruits for the SEC contest against Missouri. Here is a list of top prospects expected in and we will look for more as the game nears.

The Gators look to sign at least one running back in 2015, but they are also looking at the 2016 class. With that in mind, Andrew Lee of Folkston (Ga.) Charlton County is a 6-foot, 205 pound speedster that camped at Florida in June and is on the verge of getting an offer. He’s a good looking prospect that can run away from a defender or run them over.

At receiver, Clemson commit and 4-star prospect Deon Cain of Tampa Bay Tech is expected to make the two hour trek. Cain is a big timer with some size (6-foot-1, 187) at the position and a guy that Florida has had their sights on for quite some time. His last visit to Gainesville was for camp in June and getting him back on campus is a big thing.

Both of Florida’s tight end/ B-position commitments are expected in attendance. Camrin Knight of Tallahassee Lincoln was one of the first to pull the trigger in the 2015 class and has made every home game so far. Kalif Jackson of Neptune Beach Fletcher will make his third trip to see a game in The Swamp this season after committing to the Gators in August.

The lone offensive line big time prospect expected in is such an important part of the class. Tyler Jordan of Jacksonville Bishop Kenny is not only a big time player and Under Armour All-American, but he is also a big part of the glue that is holding the Gators recruiting class together.

On the defensive line, Florida expects their top two offers in-state at the defensive tackle position. Commitment Andrew Ivie of Dade City Pasco and Kendrick Norton of Jacksonville Trinity Christian have been to Gainesville multiple times since August and that should continue Saturday.

Maybe the biggest deal of a trip will come from 4-star outside linebacker Adonis Thomas of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett. Thomas committed to Florida on August 1, but has always maintained that he will continue to look to make sure he is making the right decision. Alabama has been lurking for the Peach State star, but he has remained true to his choice. Getting him on campus and showing him how important he is to the future is a big deal this weekend.

Another huge linebacker prospect expected in is Jeff Holland of Jacksonville Trinity Christian. The 4-star All-American Holland is a primo prospect for the gators and a guy that has attended every home game this season.

One big star in the secondary expected in for the class of 2015 is cornerback Mike Hughes of New Bern (N.C.). A terrific athlete, Hughes has had a Florida offer for quite some time. It is thought that he is likely to stay in-state, but he is visiting unofficially on this trip and that is a good thing. 2016 cornerback Ronnie Blackmon of Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake is a big prospect in the next class that is expected in Saturday.

At safety 2016 Florida commitment Chauncey Gardner of Cocoa is the headliner. Gardner could very well play corner at Florida, but is moving up the charts as a safety and is a huge prospect for the 201 class. Joining him in the crowd Saturday night should be safety Brittain Brown of Canton (Ga.) Cherokee HS, yet another terrific player from The Peach State expected in attendance.
