Andrew Ivie is the younger brother of Joey Ivie who was the only class of 2013 defensive lineman to see the field in his first year on campus at Florida. Much like his older brother, Andrew is relentless to the ball and nasty in the trenches.
"This is an interior defensive tackle prospect that is a grinder," Scout.com national analyst Jamie Newberg says of Ivie. "He plays with a big time motor. Ivie is very strong and also excels in wrestling. You can see that when watching his film.
"Ivie is quick off the ball and uses his hands well. He also plays with good leverage on most plays, constantly pushing the pocket and moving the line of scrimmage. These traits are all characteristics of wrestlers. Ivie can get off the ball, stay low and get his hands up and into the mid-section of an offensive lineman's shoulder pads and just drive him backwards.
"This is a young man that lined up at the zero, one and three-techique and was a load to handle anywhere on the inside. He's got good initial quickness but this is not a linemen that is going to finesse you or beat you with athleticism and speed. He's about technique, strength and power and tenacity."
