Jordan likes what he knows of Nussmeier

Jacksonville Bishop Kenny offensive lineman Tyler Jordan is excited to get started at Florida as a commitment to the Gators. The news on Tuesday that former Michigan offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier is expected to be named the offensive coordinator at Florida has Jordan liking what is in store in terms of the offense of the future.

Tyler Jordan says he has looked into Coach Nussmeier since Jim McElwain was named the head coach at Florida. Nussmeier has a huge history with the head coach and was also unemployed with Brady Hoke fired as the head coach at Michigan where he was employed.

“A little bit,” he said when asked f he did his research on Nussmeier. “I like the hire, know he’s got a great relationship with Coach Mac, and he’s been a successful coordinator in the past.”

Jordan was offered by Michigan, but never had a relationship with Nussmeier in the recruiting process.

“They offered me but only the offensive line coach recruited me,” Jordan said.

Finally Jordan says he thinks it is invaluable for the gators that Nussmeier has already had a go around as a coordinator in the SEC with his time at Alabama.

“If you’ve coached in the SEC before, you’ve experienced the highest level in football,” Jordan said. “So, he knows and has seen what the SEC is about.
