Deondre Francois isn’t making a huge deal out of the visit to Florida. He says it is a respect thing and he has found some quick respect for new Florida head coach Jim McElwain for his actions during his first week on the job at the beginning of the month.
“Just to show some respect for the new coach,” Francois said of the upcoming visit. “Just to look and see what kind of guy he is. He came to my school to visit me, so I will go to his school and visit him.”
Francois has visited the Gators before and things just didn’t vibe that well for the strong armed signal caller.
“I like McElwain and think he is a really nice guy,” Francois said. “I want to go on an official to Florida just to go and see if the environment has changed now that there is a new head coach there.”
He also thinks the new Florida offense suits his skill set a bit more than the old one.
“I think it is a better offense,” he said. “I didn’t want to play in the spread offense that Florida had. It’s a pro-style offense now at Florida. With the Michigan coach coming over it’s a better offense.”
In the end he says it is still just a courtesy visit.
Florida has nothing to prove to me, because I am 100% committed to Florida State.
