Cronkrite bonding with Florida’s RB coach

One name almost no Gator fans nobody knew when he was announced as the running back coach at Florida is Tim Skipper. Fresh off his stint at Colorado State under Jim McElwain, Skipper hadn’t worked in the southeast until now. Yet, the young running back coach is making headway in recruiting and very early. One of his bigger targets is Jordan Cronkrite.

Jordan Cronkrite is expected in for his official visit to Florida this weekend and has already met the newly assigned coach that will help host the big time back from Miami Westminster Christian. Cronkrite is building a rapport with what could be his position coach of the future.

“He’s great,” Cronkite said of Tim Skipper. “We’re building a good relationship. He’s a jokester.”

Skipper comes from a lineage stock full of running back knowledge. His father has been an NFL running back coach for over two decades and his brother is also an NFL running back coach. Skipper knows a thing or two about good backs and he tells Cronkrite that he’s a guy that can do it all.

“He loves my versatility,” Cronkrite said. “He said I am a baller.”

Cronkrite will visit with the staff in Miami this week and then make his official visit to Gainesville on the weekend. He says he is looking to see just how much the Gators need him.

“I just want to see how much of a priority I am for them,” he said. “I think I am a big priority.”

Cronkrite has been told that Florida is looking to sign two backs in this recruiting class. He definitely could be one of them and we will be there to follow his recruitment every step.
