In the meantime, the Gators feel extremely comfortable about running back Jordan Scarlett, receiver Kalif Jackson (early enrollment), tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe (enrollee enrollment), tight end Camrin Knight, offensive linemen Tyler Jordan, Brandon Sandifer, Fredrick Johnson, and Richard Desir Jones on offense. They also feel great about defensive linemen Andrew Ivie, Jabari Zuniga and Luke Ancrum, linebacker Rayshad Jackson, safety Kylan Johnson, and cornerback Chris Williamson.
Those 14 prospects set the tone for the finish that is coming on Wednesday, a finish we expect to be a big one.
Here is a rundown of the prospects that Florida is pursuing still including two that are currently committed to the Gators, but are on the fence about their commitment.
Deondre Francois Recruiting Trend Meter:
This one has been a bit of a rollercoaster during the past week. The “hacked twitter-gate” scandal was spurred on by a visit from the Florida coaches. Francois showed me that he could actually make the move, even though he publicly backed down. I think he will flip on Wednesday even though I am leaving the trend meter at even because my thoughts haven’t changed on him. I think Francois is in the class.
Lamar Jackson Recruiting Trend Meter:
I think Lamar Jackson is a viable option in this class if the Gators don’t get Francois. WE will see if he can hang on to see where Francois ends up. I don’t have him in the class at this time.
Just two prospects left in Jordan Cronkrite and D’Anfernee McGriff, Florida wants them both.
Jordan Cronkrite Recruiting Trend Meter:
Nothing but up for this guy. He’s been a Gator for basically the entire month of January in my opinion.
D’Anfernee McGriff Recruiting Trend Meter:
McGriff de-committed from Auburn this week, setting the stage for the Gators to add a power back / H-back to the fold.
Florida would like to land all three of these prospects. Derrick Dillon is already committed but will decide between Florida and LSU on Wednesday. Ryan Davos and Antonio Callaway are two prime targets they are shooting hard for.
Derrick Dillon Recruiting Trend Meter:
Sources from LSU believe Dillon is 50/50. That is actually better than what I have heard lately. Could this be a signing day surprise and stick? I am actually not putting him in my class, but do believe the trend has gone up.
Ryan Davis Recruiting Trend Meter:
Strangely enough the down arrow won’t lead me to remove him from my prediction of being a Gator. But there has been some serious 11th hour things going on with this one and for someone that I thought was a ‘lock’ just a few days ago, we will have to wait until 10 in the morning to see what he actually does. I still think he signs with Florida.
Antonio Callaway Recruiting Trend Meter:
Callaway had a great trip to Florida last weekend. Things have been on the upswing ever since and he should send his LOI into the Gators Wednesday morning.
Martez Ivey Recruiting Trend Meter:
I have never wavered on this one throughout. Expect Ivey to commit to Florida at noon on Wednesday on ESPN. He is likely be the biggest get in the class as far as need and ability.
Tyree St. Louis Recruiting Trend Meter:
I never felt good about this one. He came in and gave the gators a shot last weekend, but I don’t think it was enough to sway him. I think he sticks with his Miami commitment.
Nick Buchanan Recruiting Trend Meter:
This one seemed to change for the better a couple of days after he returned him from his official visit toFlorida. Immediately after, it went cold, but after time to think about it, things seem to be swinging in the gators favor. I have him in my mock class.
Darryl Williams Recruiting Trend Meter:
He was offered on Monday. He received a letter of intent yesterday. The latter is a real big sign considering how tight the Gators are on scholarships right now. I have him in my mock class.
Mike Horton Recruiting Trend Meter:
Currently committed to the Gators, everything seemed fine when he left after his official visit a couple of weeks ago. Distance seems to be a big factor and I believe he ends up at Auburn at the end of the day.
Byron Cowart Recruiting Trend Meter:
I am really torn now. Tuesday morning I was all in with the Gators on this one. By late Tuesday night, some things happened and I am hesitant to put him in my mock. So I won’t. Reluctantly, I will leave Cowart out of my mock class with the thought that this could go either way on Wednesday.
CeCe Jefferson Recruiting Trend Meter:
Some cause for concern in the 11th hour has me a little spooked. Ole Miss and Alabama came screaming in and have his attention after I was never more sure of him being a Gator on Monday and most of the day on Tuesday. I still believe he ends up in Orange and Blue, but he will be dealing with schools all day on Wednesday in my opinion. I do have him in my mock class.
CeCe Jefferson Recruiting Trend Meter:
The sleeper of the group. He left here Sunday and was nothing but Gator when he left. Add this one to my mock class.
This is a position where Florida will not meet its needs in this class. Hoever, if they can land Adonis Thomas, that would be one huge get.
Adonis Thomas Recruiting Trend Meter:
I have consistently said he didn’t need to take an official visit to Gainesville to commit here. He has been here plenty of times. There are a couple of thins I know that make me believe there is a real chance. Could this one be a surprise? I am putting him in the mock.
Javarius Davis Recruiting Trend Meter:
It seems at the 11th hour that Florida wants him as a cornerback as they didn’t get two in the class that they wanted. I believe that is all he wanted from the Gators. I am not absolutely sure on this one, but I am adding Javarius Davis to my mock class.
At the end of the day, I have Florida adding Deondre Francois, Jordan Cronkrite, D’Anfernee McGriff, Antonio Callaway, Ryan Davis, Martez Ivey, Nick Buchanan, Darryl Williams, CeCe Jefferson, Keivonnis Davis, Adonis Thomas, and Javarius Davis to the 2015 class. At the same time I expect them to lose Derrick Dillon and Mike Horton.Dillon and Byron Cowart are swing guys that could come the gators way if everything goes right. Also f they miss on Francois I would expect Lamar Jackson to end up in the class.
With all of that said and done, it is now time to see what happens… let the faxes begin.
