Five-star thinking things over

Five-star defensive end Byron Cowart will take his time and sign his letter of intent at a later time after publicly committing to Auburn on Wednesday.

Seffner (Fla.) Armwood 5-star defensive end Byron Cowart has decided to postpone his signing with Auburn and is still undecided in what to do about his commitment according to Armwood head coach Sean Callahan

Speaking to national recruiting analyst Jamie Newberg, Callahan said that Cowart will be taking his time and talking with family and close friends about where he should end up.

Cowart is one of three 5-star prospects that the Gators were looking to close on this signing day. Apopka offensive tackle Martez Ivey committed to Florida a couple of hours after Cowart appeared on ESPN. Baker County 5-star defensive end CeCe Jefferson will be announcing on ESPN at 2 P.M. today.

Cowart has been a Florida and Auburn battle ever since Will Muschamp landed at Auburn as the defensive coordinator. The former Gator head coach has been in a battle of wills with Florida's new head coach Jim McElwain over tehe prized prospect.
