Cronkrite chooses Florida

Florida added a running back to its 2015 class on Wednesday afternoon.

Jordan Cronkrite announced his decision at Westminster Christian School on National Signing Day, choosing Florida over West Virginia at an announcement at his school.

The three-star running back visited West Virginia on January 16 before making a trip to Gainesville on January 23. He shut down the process after his trip to Florida and said he would announce the decision on National Signing Day. On Wednesday, he made it official with the Gators.

The No. 51 running back and No. 6 running back in the state of Florida, Cronkrite gives the Gators another running back in the class. Jordan Scarlett made his announcement on Monday night, as the No. 13 running back in the country chose the Gators over Florida State and Miami.

Cronkrite and Scarlett built their relationship since both took their official visits to Florida on the same weekend, and the opportunity to play together was appealing to both running backs.

As a senior, Cronkrite had 1,405 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. He averaged 8.6 yards per carry and 140.5 yards per game. As a junior, Cronkrite had 1,555 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 12.6 yards per carry and 119.6 yards per game.
