Florida stays hot with addition of McGriff

The Gators added a good athlete that could serve as another running back.

Leon High School quarterback D’Anfernee McGriff committed to Florida on Wednesday afternoon. Though he plays quarterback in Tallahassee, Scout projects him as a running back in college and he could serve as an h-back or a versatile piece of Jim McElwain’s offense.

He ranks as the No. 42 running back in the country and a four-star prospect. A 6-3, 220-pound athlete he could line up almost anywhere on the offensive side of the ball.

McGriff was committed to Auburn but took a visit to Florida over the weekend of January 23. He announced on Monday that he de-committed from Auburn, and Florida was assumed as the destination since it was the only other program he visited during the process.
