Spring practice to start March 16

Florida football hasn’t hit the practice field under its new head coach, but that will change next month.

The Jim McElwain era has been underway for almost three months, but the new Florida coach will get to lead his team on the practice field for the first time on Monday, March 16. McElwain will hold a press conference the week before to discuss the team as they head into his first spring. Practices will not be open to the public.

The spring will come to a close on April 11 with the Orange & Blue Debut, but limited numbers on the offensive line could make the game a challenge.

The first practice will serve as an important step in the rebuilding process. The 25th head coach in program history, McElwain takes over a squad that combined to go 11-13 over the past two seasons.

FightinGators.com will have full coverage of Florida’s spring practice.
