Polite talks Florida visit

One of the better athletes in the state of Florida for the 2016 class is Daytona Beach Mainland defensive end/ tight end Jachai Polite. At The Opening tryouts in Orlando a few weeks ago, Polite was dominating against the best offensive linemen on the field. On Friday he visited Florida.

It isn’t like Jachai Polite is being totally ignored. The 6-foot-4, 228 pounder has eight BCS offers right now and four from Power-5 conferences. But, he is one of those guys that you just know is going to have a lot more to talk about when all is said and done.

Polite has great quickness and elusiveness for a guy his size and the ability allows him, as a defensive lineman, to get away from blocks and get to the ball carrier. As an offensive player, his skill set allows him to get open and at the same time he has the power to really punish anyone that tries to block him or get in his way.

On Friday, Polite visited Florida, a place with a staff that is trying change a program and looking for quality athletes to do so. Polite got a full look at the program and thought that the Gators were doing things the right way.

“They are building a better program and the staff is great,” Polite said about what he saw on the trip.

While the Gators still haven’t extended an offer to Polite, they like him a lot and will continue to recruit him. They plan on making sure to get a better look at him, especially his area recruiter assistant Kerry Dixon who Polite says is alright to talk to.

“They will be out to see me in the spring,” he said. “Coach Dixon is an easy going guy.”

Describing the Florida defense as “very strong”, Polite seems like a natural fit for a defense that really likes a hybrid and multi-faceted player. His time is coming whether it is at Florida or not and Scout will be there to cover his recruitment.
