‘Big O’ coming to Gainesville on Friday

Woodstock (Ga.) River Ridge pass rusher and tight end Stephen Omorogbe is the kind of athlete the Florida Gators are looking for in the 2016 class. The young man will be in Gainesville on Friday.

At 6-foot-3.5, and 239 pounds the Florida Gators like Stephen Omorogbe as a tight end at this point in time. Tight end coach Greg Nord and Director of player personnel Drew Hughes have stayed on the young man, even without an offer, to let him know they want to see more of him. They will get that chance when he visits Florida on Friday.

“Yes, (I talk a lot to) Coach Nord and Hughes,” Omorogbe told FightinGators.com this weekend. “Coach Nord is my dude. They're excited to see me is basically what they've been saying.”

With two recent offer from Harvard and James Madison, Omorogbe is up to six. He says he is really looking forward to the visit in Gainesville on Friday.

“I've been to other SEC Schools so I want to see how UF compares,” he said. “I’m praying for that offer of course. Florida is one of those schools where their offer means something.”

Omorogbe will make the visit to Gainesville with his mother. It will be something new for her and he says that the recruiting process is something she is not fond of.

“Her first college visit ever with me so I'm excited,” he said. She doesn't understand (the process) or like it. Being from Nigeria she is completely foreign to it and football as a whole. Dad included.”

With no expectations on Friday, Omorogbe is coming in open minded and ready to enjoy it all. We will make sure to follow up on the visit.
