Gators add offensive line help

The Florida coaches have been focused on adding offensive line help in any way possible this offseason.

On Tuesday, Fordham offensive lineman Mason Halter tweeted that he will play his final year of eligibility at Florida. Halter is a 6-8, 297-pound graduate transfer who was a three-year starter at Fordham and a two-time FCS All-American.

Halter announced his decision on Instagram.

"On the 23rd of June I'll be heading down to the University of Florida to start my masters degree and fulfill my last year of eligibility playing as a Gator!" Halter wrote. "Can't thank the Fordham coaching staff and all my teammates over the year for molding me into the player I am today! Can't wait to get down to Florida and start grinding with the team #GoGators."

When spring practice ended, there were only six healthy scholarship offensive linemen remaining on the Florida roster. Senior guard Trip Thurman will be the only offensive lineman on the roster with any starting experience.

The Gators have six incoming freshmen offensive linemen that will get to campus later this month.
