This wish comes in the form recruiting again. The Florida recruiting class has been mired in “star mediocrity” so far this cycle. Honestly, there just aren’t enough of those bright yellow pointy things in front of the prospects to help with the momentum of filling the class at a high level.
A couple of things can change for this. First and foremost, some real stars need to get on board. There are a couple of highly coveted four-star prospects in the class, but more of them need to say yes to McElwain and his staff. Get that to happen and things will get energized.
They seemed close to making that happen next Tuesday when Binjimen Victor and Cavin Ridley were set to announce Gators, but both postponed their commitments putting off that momentum swing we were looking for.
The other way for is for the guys already in the class to get more attention and raise their status. I still believe this will happen for a few of them and some are starting to get more offers and more attention from the guys that do the ratings to make it happen.
