Thomas Holley was sidetracked before he ever got started, but the raw defensive tackle should get a chance to get in the mix as a redshirt freshman. After missing time due to complications with a previous surgery, Holley should be 100% healthy for the fall.
Holley as a senior and only his second year playing football at Lincoln HS in Brooklyn, NY, had 60 tackles and seven sacks.
He’s athletic having played basketball most of his life, but raw as we stated having only played a season and a half of high school football. Still, he is an upside guy that the staff really likes down the road.
Can’t forget Rod Johnson
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the offensive lineman that was supposed to wear the #55 jersey… Roderick Johnson
Johnson was supposed to be the leader of the offensive line. Talent wise he was ahead of anyone else, and he brought an attitude to the game.
Unfortunately for everyone involved an issue with the vertebrae in his neck will now keep him from playing the game he loves and the game he was likely destined to make a lot of money with.
Johnson has decided to stay on with the program and help the young linemen on campus, working as a coach of sorts until he graduates.
