Kristian Fulton has always said that Florida was one of his main schools. He has followed the Gators over the last several years and what they have produced in the defensive backfield. It is enough to keep the attention of the best at the cornerback position.
And that is what Fulton is. He’s just on the verge of being ranked five-stars on Scout and a terrific long, lean, and athletic corner that the Florida staff loves.
Fulton came to Gainesville with the mindset that he was going to make sure he visited before an impending preseason commitment and now it appears that time frame will be different because of everything he found out in Gainesville.
“They’ve changed the depth chart,” Fulton said finding out just how short the gators are at the position. “It really caught my attention and I liked that. I always liked Florida, so they are high on my list.”
“He’s a good coach, a young coach who can relate to the players,” Fulton said. “He put DB’s in the NFL while he was at UCF and that’s where I want to be at in a few years.”
The lack of numbers at cornerback along with the likelihood of All-American Vernon Hargreaves are a big deal, but the plan the staff has in place for a guy like Fulton is another big sell.
“I like how he starts his corners inside out and learning the NICKEL and DIME and then playing corner,” Fulton said.
In the end it was the staff that made the difference for the young man.
“I just liked the coaches,” he said. “They showed me and told me how much they want me and I believe they meant it.”
