Florida had three players selected to the preseason All-SEC teams, all on the defensive side of the ball.
Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves was selected to the first team. The junior received 186 points in the voting, second only to Georgia running back Nick Chubb’s 189. Hargreaves was named an All-American last season after leading the SEC with 13 pass breakups, adding three interceptions.
Defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard was voted to the second team. He decided to return for his senior year after starting 20 games over the previous two seasons. Last year, Bullard was third on the team with 8.5 tackles for a loss and second on the team with 12 quarterback hurries. His versatility will allow him to help the Gators at any position on the defensive line.
Linebacker Antonio Morrison was selected to the third team. While there are questions about Morrison’s health after a serious knee injury in the Birmingham Bowl, he led the Gators with 101 tackles last season, 37 tackles more than any other player on the team.
